Ireland Fashion Week is coming and it’s planning on putting Irish fashion on the map
A national fashion week? Yes, finally
It’s official. Ireland is getting its very first national fashion week. And it’s about time.
From October 6 to 10, 2025, cities and communities across the country will become one big creative stage. Ireland Fashion Week (IFW) isn’t just a lineup of shows. It’s a celebration of who we are, what we create, and where Irish fashion is going.
Behind it all is Ashley McDonnell, a powerhouse in global luxury and tech. She’s spent years championing Irish talent abroad, and now she’s bringing it all back home. The goal is simple: give Irish fashion the platform it deserves, both locally and globally.
What makes IFW different from the rest
Fashion weeks can feel exclusive, intimidating or disconnected. This one is built differently.
IFW isn’t just for press or buyers. It’s for the Irish fashion community.
It isn’t just about the biggest names. It’s about emerging voices, students and independents.
And it’s not just about shows. It includes exhibitions, talks, fashion dinners and moments that tell real stories.
There will be runway shows in heritage locations, events that spotlight Irish sport and culture, and over one million euros in support for the next generation of fashion talent.
This is about fashion that reflects Ireland, respects its roots and pushes its future forward.
Why this matters if you’re an Irish designer or model in Ireland
For a long time, Irish designers lacked two essential things: visibility and funding. IFW is here to change that. But this is bigger than fashion. It’s a moment for Irish desginers to take up space and be seen on the global stage. It’s proof that you don’t have to leave the country to grow. That your work matters. That your voice belongs.
